An elephant trampled stored rice and a border wall at a rice mill in Dighi village, causing significant damage.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a recent development, an elephant caused significant destruction at the Shri Raj Udyog rice mill located in Dighi village of Chakulia Nagar Panchayat on Thursday night.
It was reported that the elephant had entered the mill premises through the main gate at approximately six o’clock in the evening, leading to widespread panic.
Subhash Kumar Lodha, the owner of the mill, revealed that the invading elephant not only trampled on the stored rice and gourd, but also destroyed the mill’s border wall.
A team from the forest department was dispatched to the scene upon receiving information about the elephant. They attempted to drive the elephant away from the mill.
It’s worth noting that this elephant has been a source of trouble in the Chakulia Nagar Panchayat area for the past few days.
Earlier on Tuesday night, it wrecked havoc at the FCI godown located in Ward No. 10 in Chakulia, where it smashed the main gate, consumed and trampled upon the stored rice and paddy.
