Raghubar Das Visits President Murmu, Union Ministers; Raises Jharkhand Issues

Former Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das met several key officials, including President Droupadi Murmu, discussing corruption, law and order issues, and the need to expedite airport development.

JAMSHEDPUR – Raghubar Das, a former Jharkhand chief minister and national vice president of the BJP, visited President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday to discuss matters concerning Jharkhand, including corruption, deteriorating law and order situation, and increasing crimes against women and tribal people.

Das later met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and discussed the construction of the Dhalbhumgarh airport.

He indicated that objections and hindrances raised by the Forest Department have been addressed, and legal obstacles need to be removed for speedy development of the airport.

The Central government has already sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the airport’s construction.

Additionally, Das advocated for the commencement of flights from the Udan-ready airports at Bokaro, Dumka, and Palamu’s Chianki. Minister Scindia assured prompt initiation of aviation services.

In a meeting with Union Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav, Das proposed the extension of the Tata-Danapur Express to Buxar. Prompt instructions were given by the minister to the officials regarding this.

Das also suggested several railway modifications and enhancements for improved connectivity.

Meeting with Shantanu Thakur, the Union minister of state for ports, shipping, and waterways, Das pushed for the commencement of the second phase of the multimodal hub’s construction in Sahibganj at the earliest.
