Prabha Rao’s revolutionary study on the learning environment in East Singhbhum District’s secondary schools earns her a Ph.D. from Rabindranath Tagore University.
JAMSHEDPUR – Prabha Rao, hailing from Raisen and wife of Ashok Kumar Singh, has been declared the recipient of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree by Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), Raisen, M.P.
This distinction was made following the successful completion and results of her pioneering study, "A Study of Learning Environment of Secondary Schools in Jharkhand, East Singhbhum District."
She has been bestowed the degree as per the university registrar’s instructions.
Under the guidance of Dr. Rekha Gupta, a professor in the Department of Education at RNTU, Prabha Rao embarked on her academic journey.
Her comprehensive research was focused on understanding the learning environments in secondary schools in East Singhbhum District, Jharkhand, examining numerous factors impacting student learning experiences with an aim to enhance educational standards.
Reflecting on her journey, Prabha remarked, "This journey has been enlightening and transformative for me. I felt compelled to understand the learning environment in secondary schools, which led me to probe into the challenges and opportunities that students and teachers in this region encounter. I’m greatly indebted to Dr. Rekha Gupta for her unending support during my Ph.D. journey."
Her in-depth analysis considered teaching methodologies, classroom structure, accessibility to learning resources, student-teacher relations, and community participation in the educational process.
Her work seeks to provide impactful insights that could potentially transform Jharkhand’s educational landscape, offering students increased autonomy over their learning environments.
