Road safety campaign in Jamshedpur’s Labor Bureau roundabout results in fines of Rs 49,000 imposed on 37 drivers for violating traffic rules.
JAMSHEDPUR – A road safety drive was conducted by the local road safety team at the Labor Bureau roundabout in Nildih, resulting in the apprehension of 37 people.
These individuals, all drivers, were found to be in violation of traffic rules during this investigation campaign.
A cumulative fine of Rs 49,000 was collected from them on the spot.
The majority of the rule-breakers were found driving without helmets, while others were nabbed for triple riding and some for driving without a license.
In addition to imposing fines, the drivers were also educated on the spot about the importance of following traffic rules to prevent loss of life and property in road accidents.
DTO Dinesh Ranjan, who ordered the investigation, stated that the campaign is primarily aimed at raising awareness about road safety, with the ultimate goal of reducing road accidents in the district.
He urged district residents to abide by traffic rules, noting that the Transport Department and traffic police will continue to conduct regular checking drives.
Therefore, adhering to traffic rules not only ensures safety but also helps avoid fines.
