Illegal Tobacco and Gutka Seizure in Sakchi, Jamshedpur: Enforcement Action Taken

JAMSHEDPUR – Acting on a tip-off, the JNAC team, in coordination with local law enforcement, seized illegal tobacco and gutka from a house in Sakchi Mohammedan Line, Jamshedpur.

The confiscated products are estimated to be worth lakhs, underlining the severity of the illicit trade.

The sale of Gutka and tobacco products is banned in the state, yet secret sales persist in local markets.

The latest seizure demonstrates the scale of this underground operation, with a substantial amount of these products being stocked in the Sakchi house.

The raid was jointly conducted by the Axis Department and the police force.

Post the operation, the implicated house was sealed, and all the contraband Gutka was seized.

The officials stressed that this enforcement action would continue even in future and there would be an increased vigil and clamp down on the illegal sale of tobacco products in the city..

They said that they would remain committed to upholding the state’s ban on tobacco and protecting the health of its citizens.
