JNAC Enforces Strict Measures on Illegal Constructions

No Utility Connections for Unauthorized Buildings in Jamshedpur

Directive aims to ensure compliance with approved construction plans.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has recently implemented strict measures to address the issue of illegal constructions.

As part of these measures, the committee has decided to deny electricity and water connections to such buildings.

The Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Krishna Kumar, has issued a directive to Tata Steel UISL (JUSCO) stating that utility connections will only be provided once the completion and occupancy certificates have been submitted.

The directive clearly states that buildings that are currently being constructed or those that do not comply with approved maps will not be provided with essential utilities.

We are currently working on a plan to deal with the issue of illegal structures in areas like Sakchi, Golmuri, Sonari, Kadma, and Bistupur.

The JNAC is ready to disconnect electricity and water services to sealed buildings, as part of an ongoing campaign that started in 2011 after receiving orders from the High Court.

At that time, a total of seventy buildings were sealed because they did not meet the required regulatory standards.
