Tata Steel Foundation Takes Significant Steps Towards Green Initiatives in Collaboration with CA-CIB and Cummins India Foundation

Tata Steel Foundation boosts sustainable practices in Masti Ki Pathshala centres, introducing solar panels, e-scooters, and improved hygiene facilities.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) is going green in a big way, with a series of sustainable initiatives implemented in collaboration with Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CA-CIB) and Cummins India Foundation.

The venture has led to the installation of solar panels across three Masti Ki Pathshala centres in Pipla, Rajnagar, and Sarjamda.

The move is part of TSF’s bid to become carbon resilient and encourage renewable energy use in daily operations.

The solar panels are expected to benefit numerous students, many of whom face frequent power shortages, particularly during summers.

The new setup ensures uninterrupted learning hours and significantly reduces negative environmental impact.

The collaboration also introduced e-scooters for field coordinators overseeing various programmes across villages. The environment-friendly transport solution effectively tackles delays caused by transport scarcity.

Speaking at the event, Sourav Roy, CEO, Tata Steel Foundation, emphasized the importance of safety measures when using e-scooters.

He expressed delight at providing a sustainable solution to transportation issues faced by the field staff.

The partnership with Cummins India Foundation has also led to the construction and development of toilet blocks at the Pipla centre. This vital improvement will facilitate better hygiene practices for the resident students.

The green initiatives have not only improved operational efficiency at the Masti Ki Pathshala centres but have also made students more conscious about the environment and the importance of renewable energy sources.

The sustainability move is a significant step towards an energy-efficient future for TSF.
