Jamshedpur: In a remarkable initiative to enhance English medium education in government schools, the Jharkhand government has bestowed the title of ‘Schools of Excellence’ on three schools in the East Singhbhum district.

The enrollment process for the academic session 2023-24 has already begun, and the schools have received an impressive 600 applications for admission so far.

The application process will continue until May 15, with application forms available for free collection from the schools.

Encouraging the surge in applications, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav has appealed to parents to maximize the number of applications.

The recognized schools are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and will offer education free of charge, relieving parents of the burden of fees.

To maximize outreach and raise awareness about the Schools of Excellence, the district administration has initiated a comprehensive publicity campaign.

This includes public announcements and other mediums to reach the widest possible audience.

The recognized schools include the Upgraded +2 Girls High School in Sakchi, Jamshedpur (classes 6, 7, and 8 – girls only); BPM +2 High School in Burmamains, Jamshedpur (Class 9 – boys and girls); and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Sundernagar, a residential school offering class 6 with a reservation for girls.

Parents interested in enrolling their children have been advised to contact the respective schools to obtain application forms.

Following district-level examinations, admissions will be granted based on the merit list.

More detailed information and the format of the application form can be found on the district’s website at http://www.jamshedpur.nic.in.
