DC Ensures Malaria Relief Efforts, DDT sprayed, mosquito nets distributed
Jamshedpur – Deputy Commissioner Smt. Vijaya Jadhav conducted a surprise inspection of the Musabani Community Health Center (CHC) late on Saturday night.
The visit followed her inspections of the PDS godown and KGBV in Musabani block earlier in the day. Medical Officer in Charge (MOIC) and Block Program Manager (BPM) were also present during the inspection.
The Deputy Commissioner assessed the hospital’s cleanliness, medical facilities provided to villagers, and met with malaria victims from Suryabera village to monitor their recovery progress. A team had been dispatched to Suryabera village after multiple malaria cases were reported, discovering 10 villagers affected by the fatal PF malaria strain.

It may be added here that four kinds of malaria parasites infect humans: Plasmodium falciparum, P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae.
The strain found in the patients of Suryabera was of Plasmodium falciparum type.
All patients were transported to CHC by ambulance for treatment.
During the inspection, Vijaya Jadhav instructed the hospital staff to take special care of malaria patients, ensuring proper food and treatment.

In response to her orders, DDT spraying and mosquito net distribution were carried out in the malaria-affected Suryabera village.
The civil surgeon stated that the health of malaria victims will be monitored for the next 10 days, with teams visiting the village to identify any new cases emerging.
