Galudih villagers Demand Adequate Compensation for Land Acquired for Putru Toll Plaza Construction
Jamshedpur: Villagers of Galudih whose land has been acquired for the construction of Putru toll plaza under the jurisdiction of Galudih police station have demanded adequate compensation for their land. They submitted a memorandum to the DC on Wednesday in this connection.
In the memorandum they have raised their concerns about the acquisition of land for the construction of the Putru toll plaza, located under the Galudih police station.
A memorandum has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of the district, requesting compensation at commercial rates for the land that was acquired.
According to the villagers, the land was acquired from them for the construction of the toll plaza and national highway. However, the compensation that was given to them was at agricultural rates, while the toll plaza is operating as a commercial entity, generating significant revenue. The villagers claim that they have not received adequate compensation for their land, and they feel cheated.
The villagers have demanded that the Deputy Commissioner takes positive action towards providing proper compensation at commercial rates.
They said that their rights as landowners have been overlooked, and they deserve to be compensated appropriately.
They said that they would do everything to highlight the need for transparency and fairness in land acquisition and compensation processes.
They said that the administration should ensure that the rights of landowners are protected and that they receive adequate compensation for their land, especially when it is being used for commercial purposes.
