C P Radhakrishnan Jharkhand’s new Governor, Ramesh Bais made Governor of Maharashtra

New Delhi: C P Radhakrishnan has been appointed the new Governor of Jharkhand. He will take over from Ramesh Bais, the current Governor of Jharkhand, who has now been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra.

Radhakrishnan is a veteran Tamil Nadu BJP leader who has previously served as a Member of Parliament and as the Tamil Nadu BJP’s president.

He is also a member of the BJP’s National Executive and has been a member of the party since 1973, when he was 16 years old.

He ran for office on the BJP ticket and won in 1998 and 1999, but was defeated in 2004, 2012, and 2019.

He has been an active member of the party for 48 years and has extensive experience in the organisation, having worked with the RSS and the Jana Sangh.

He has previously run in elections with more than 389,000 votes in Tamil Nadu against the alliance of DMK and AIADMK.

A press communique from the President’s Secretariat said that the President of India has accepted the resignation of Bhagat Singh Koshyari as the Governor of Maharashtra and Radha Krishnan Mathur as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.

It detailed the following appointments that have been made:

(i) Lieutenant General Trivikram Parnaik as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh (ii) Laxman Prasad Acharya as the Governor of Sikkim (iii) C.P. Radhakrishnan as the Governor of Jharkhand (iv) Shiv Pratap Shukla as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh (v) Gulab Chand Kataria as the Governor of Assam (vi) Retired Justice S. Abdul Nazeer as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh (vii) Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, the current Governor of Andhra Pradesh, as the Governor of Chhattisgarh (viii) Anusuiya Uikye, the current Governor of Chhattisgarh, as the Governor of Manipur (ix) La. Ganesan, the current Governor of Manipur, as the Governor of Nagaland (x) Phagu Chauhan, the current Governor of Bihar, as the Governor of Meghalaya (xi) Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the current Governor of Himachal Pradesh, as the Governor of Bihar (xii) Ramesh Bais, the current Governor of Jharkhand, as the Governor of Maharashtra (xiii) Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra, the current Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
