Excise Dept raids several sites in city, 600 litres of hooch seized

Jamshedpur: The Excise Department on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner Excise East Singhbhum raided a number of sites in Kapali Basti, Khutadih, Jhapari Basti, Kadma, Jaiprabha Nagar, Ramnagar, Bage Basti in Sonari, Chhaya Nagar in Sitaramdera and Lal Building area in Bagbera.

Raids were conducted in all the storage and sale sites of hooch and country liquor made of Mahua.

The raiding teams seized at least 600 liters of hooch (Mahua) has been confiscated.

No one has been arrested during the raid. Most of the operators managed to flee.

Cases have been registered against all the absconding operators and sellers of hooch.
