Corona in Jamshedpur: 1 more life lost on Monday

Total deaths due to pandemic in East Singhbhum reach 373, mortality rate 2.2%, recovery 97%

Jamshedpur: Coronavirus has claimed one more life in Jamshedpur on Monday, taking the total death toll to 373 in East Singhbhum.

The coronavirus pandemic has declined in ferocity, but it is not yet completely out. It is still exacting a hefty cost on the people of Jamshedpur as the city continues to lose lives to the pandemic almost everyday, though less in numbers compared to weeks back.

According to official data, on Monday 25 fresh coronavirus infection cases were detected in different parts of the district taking the total number of infections in the district to 16,950.

On the other hand, 17 patients of corona were also cured and discharged. The total number of recoveries in the district has now reached 16,375.

For now, the district has 201 active cases of coronavirus infection.

The recovery rate in the district is still at 97%, while the mortality rate remains at 2.2%. The positivity rate too is now hovering around 4.3%.

Till date, 3,97,867 samples have been tested by the district. East Singhbhum remains the most affected district of Jharkhand as far as corona pandemic impact is concerned.
