City police arrest two criminals, send them to judicial custody
Jamshedpur: In a major success, Jamshedpur police have succeeded in apprehending two miscreants with criminal antecedents in two separate cases. Both the accused have been sent to judicial custody.
According to police sources, one is Ranjit Jha alias Ranjit Sahu, who is an externed (tadipaar) criminal.
The CCRD SP Arvind Kumar said that Ranjit Sahu had violated the externment order and was living in Bagbera area. A case under NDPS Act was also registered against him and the police were looking for him.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested him from his residence in Bagbera.
On the other hand, the city police have also arrested another criminal Sheikh Mursheed from Musaboni.
The police said that Sheikh is accused of stealing bikes from different areas of the city. After being named in a bike theft case, he has been absconding. Vehicles stolen by Sheikh Mursheed have already been recovered and one of his accomplices too has ben arrested.
Both the arrests have come as a huge morale booster for Jamshedpur police.
