Trailer crushes morning walker at Marine Drive, victim critical

Jamshedpur: A speeding truck crushed and seriously injured an 80-year-old morning walker at Marine Drive in Jamshedpur. The injured person has been rushed to hospital and is stated to be in a critical condition.

The injured morning-walker has not been identified yet, but the police have been informed that he is a resident of Vijaya Heritage.

According to police sources, the accident occurred a little further from Sonari Domuhani where a new bridge has been constructed. The person was busy with morning Wal, when a trailer from behind (02-Q-8138) got out of control and hit the morning walker. The trailer also hit against the barrier of Marine Drive. The driver managed to escape after the accident.

The injured person is stated to be a resident of Vijaya Heritage. He is in a serious condition and has been rushed to MGMCH for treatment. Police have cautioned the locals against walking at Marine Drive and have advised them to use other parks and roads for walking as Marine Drive is for trucks and usually vehicles pass with speed on that road.
