Tata-Rotary Forest Trail launched at garbage dump yard in Beldih Gram

Jamshedpur: A historical launch of “Tata-Rotary Forest Trail” was done today on approx. 10 acre of land created over the garbage dump yard situated between Circuit House Area and Marine Drive at Beldih Gram Basti by Tata Steel in association with Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West and Grow-tree.com.

As it says – “we also make tomorrow”, Tata Steel has set its vision very clear to offer a special emphasis on beautifying the city by creating a mini forest within the city. It will enhance biodiversity of the area, attract insects, birds by planting environmentally important tree species.

This will combat atmospheric pollution and mitigate climate changes by planting mixed varieties of local trees.

Tata Steel has signed a MOU with Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West and Grow-tree.com to create this Tata-Rotary Forest Trail, under which Rotary is going to plant approx. 25 thousand trees as their initiative of massive plantation of 1.2 Million Trees called – “Vasundhara”.

Today the plantation was launched by Mr. Chanakya Choudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, under whose leadership the entire project is being driven. He expressed happiness over the launch and told about the expected improvement of oxygen level in atmosphere. Rotarian Rajan Gandotra, District Governor, Rotary (Dist 3250) and the first lady of the Dist. Rotarian. Anju Gandotra were present on the occasion.

Trees saplings was planted by the dignitaries present on this occasion, which included Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary, VP(CS) and Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Head (Infrastructure & Logistic); Mr. Rajan Gandotra, DG, Rtn. Sandeep Narang, PDG and Rtn. Pratim Banerjee, DGE from Rotary; and Mr. Tarun Daga, MD and Capt. Dhanjay Mishra from JUSCO.

Earlier Rtn. Anjani Nidhi, President, Rotary, Jamshedpur West welcomed everyone present, which was followed by a brief introduction of Tata-Rotary Forest Trail by Mr. Amitava Bakshi, who is leading the project with duel responsibility as the Director, Urban Plantation, Rotary Dist. 3250 and also as part of Tata Steel being the Chief Procurement.

A special team of Rtn. Amitava Bakshi, Rtn. Anjani Nidhi, Rtn. Dr. Amit Mukherjee, Rtn. Anjani Sahay from Rotary and Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Head, Infrastructure & Logistic from Tata Steel and Mr. Bikrant Tiwari, CEO from grow-Tree.com had been working on preparation of this project since last one month with support and motivations received from Mr. Chanakya Chaudhary, VP, CS, Tata Steel.

Mr. Bikrant Tiwari assured Rotary and Tata Steel for all possible association in future projects to make the city environmentally enriched by planting trees by Grow-tree.com. Rtn. Dr. Amit Mukherjee proposed the vote of thanks to the guest, who became part of this historic launch.
