DC reviews Covid-19 prevention and control efforts

Register FIR against those who do not help in contact tracing: DC

Jamshedpur: The DC of East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar today held a review meeting for all the measures taken and work done for prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic in the district. The meeting was also attended by SSP Dr. M Tamil Vanan and other officers and doctors of the district.

The DC said that the Corona pandemic period as been a lesson and an opportunity to gain new experiences for all the administrative officers and doctors.

He said that everyone contributed to the collective effort and necessary steps are being taken to ensure that the pandemic is controlled effectively.

He said that this has been a challenging period for the administration as well as doctors, but the efforts need to continue to ensure that the district is made corona-free as soon as possible.

The DC also appealed to the people to help in contact tracing. He said that all close contacts of Corona positive persons must get themselves tested.

He said that 5 rapid test centres have been started by the district administration and these are functioning from August 31, 2020. These five test centres are at Community Centre Kagalnagar, Thakkar Bappa School Dhatkidih, ME School Jugsalai, Community Health Centre Baridih and Lions Club Mango.

The DC told the incident commanders and surveillance teams to file FIRs against those people who are not co-operating in desired manner in contact tracing.

He also said that all the instructions and directives of the central government must be complied with in cases of home isolation.

He said that if the directives are flouted, strict action would be taken.

He also said that no person can remain in home isolation without the permission of the incident commander or surveillance team.

The DC said that all the private hospitals and nursing homes had been instructed to make suspected covid wards. He said that action would be taken against hospitals and nursing homes which have not made suspected covid wards yet.

He said that the private hospitals/CHCs/PHCs have been asked to give priority to treat those patients who are not corona positive, so that dedicated covid hospitals do not have to face unnecessary pressure.

The DC said that in view of a large number of patients coming to MGMCH, 50 additional beds and 15 more stretchers would be made available.

He said that the civil surgeon has been asked to update the medical equipment stock for the testing for Covid-19.

The Civil Surgeon has been asked to provide a Truenat machine to TMH management.

Besides, TMH management has also been asked to provide online data of Covid-19 positive patients, so that the relatives of those patients could get necessary information.

Tata Motors Hospital management was asked to increase the number of Covid-19 beds.

Those who attended the meeting included SP (City), SDPO Dhalbhum, Director ITDA-DRDA, ADC, ADJ, Special and executive officers of three local bodies, all incident commanders, DPRO. Several others attended the meeting through video conferencing. TMH GM, MGMCH Dy Superintendent, and Tata Motors Hospital doctors were also among them.
