Three youths drown in Dumaria dam, one body recovered

Jamshedpur: Three youths drowned in the dam on Shankh river in Dumaria on Monday, sources said.

The body of Dashrath Nayak, 40, one of the three, was recovered from the dam with the help of local divers. The bodies of the other two youths, identified as Sanjeet Pani and Tapan Dutta, could not be recovered till late evening, sources said.

Sources said Dashrath Nayak had gone to bathe in the dam around 1 pm when he started drowning. His two friends, also present at the scene, jumped into the dam to save him and started drowning. The three soon drowned in the deep waters.

Local villagers informed district administration officials about the incident. A team of officials was rushed to the dam. After much effort, divers recovered Nayakś body, sources said.
