One body found, search on for two more bodies in Dumaria Dam on Shankh River

Sansu (Dumaria): Search is on for two more bodies in the dam on Shankh river in Dumaria block. Three friends had drowned on Monday in the dam while taking bath. First, Dasrath Nayak started drowning. In an attempt to save him from drowning, two of his friends too drowned.

The dead body of Dasrath Nayak was found by the local divers. A search is on to find the dead bodies of two other youths.

Earlier, in a shocking incident, three youths had drowned in the dam on Shankh River between Kasmar and Damudih in Dumaria block while bathing on Monday. All three were friends.

Locals say that one Dasrath first started drowning in the dam waters and the two of his friends tried to save him and they too drowned in the dam waters and lost their lives.

According to information reaching Dumaria, one Dashrath Nayak, 40, a resident of Saraskona in Orissa started drowning in the dam on river Shankh while bathing in the dam waters. Seeing him drowning, sanjit Pani and Tapan Dutta of Kashmar village, who were his friends, also jumped into the dam waters to save him.

As the water flow in the river was very fast, these two youths could not save Dashrath despite their heroic efforts. They too drowned in trying to save their friend Dasrath.

The block administration was informed about the incident.

The BDO of Dumaria Murali Yadav, the medical officer Durga Charan Murmu and Dumaria police officer incharge Yogendra Paswan reached the site at the dam.

The locals were employed to find the dead bodies of three youths. The divers succeeded in finding the dead body of Dashrath Nayak. Efforts are on to to find the dead bodies of two other youths too.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 1 p.m.
