Modi to Inaugurate Projects Worth Rs 35,700 Crore in Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a development-centric visit to Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Bihar on 1st-2nd March 2024, beginning with a significant event in Sindri, Dhanbad, Jharkhand.

RANCHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit marks a significant thrust towards enhancing the socio-economic landscape of Eastern India, with multiple development projects set to be inaugurated.

In Sindri, Dhanbad, Modi will launch projects across fertiliser, rail, power, and coal sectors, with a collective investment of Rs 35,700 crore aimed at bolstering the region’s infrastructure and self-sufficiency.

The inauguration of the Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd (HURL) Sindri Fertiliser Plant, costing over Rs 8900 crore, symbolizes a major step towards achieving self-reliance in urea production, benefitting the nation’s farmers.

Railway projects exceeding Rs 17,600 crore will be initiated, including significant expansions and new lines, to enhance Jharkhand’s rail connectivity and promote regional development.

The Prime Minister will flag off three train services, improving connectivity and facilitating socio-economic growth in the area.

Additionally, Modi will dedicate the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project’s Unit 1 and other coal sector projects in Jharkhand, furthering the state’s energy and industrial capabilities.
