Bollywood Mourns “Udaan” Star Kavita Chaudhary’s Demise

DESK – Kavita Chaudhary, a seasoned actress celebrated for her role as Kalyani Singh in the 1989 television series ‘Udaan’, has passed away at the age of 67 following a heart attack.

Her nephew confirmed the actress’s demise, stating that she breathed her last on Thursday at Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar, where she was undergoing treatment.

The funeral rituals were conducted on Friday, marking the departure of a cherished figure in the Indian television industry.

Kavita Chaudhary’s contribution to Indian television, especially her portrayal in ‘Udaan’, a narrative championing women’s empowerment, earned her widespread acclaim.

Her passing was mourned by colleagues, including actor Anang Desai, who reminisced about their days together at the National School of Drama.

Chaudhary’s batchmates at NSD included notable actors like Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, and Govind Namdev, illustrating the caliber of her early artistic community.

Suchitra Verma, a close friend of Chaudhary, revealed that the actress had been battling cancer for years, underlining her resilience in the face of illness.
