Jamshedpur: Two bike-borne youths tried to snatch a mobile from a passerby, who was heading to his work, near JRD Sports Complex on Friday under the jurisdiction of Bistupur police station.
However, the two youths failed in snatching the mobile from the person and the morning walkers’ attention was drawn with the commotion.
The morning walkers chased the two youths and caught them. They were thrashed by the people present there and then handed over to the police.
Both the youths nabbed by the morning walkers are stated to be residents of Adityapur.
On search, the police found pliers, cutters etc from their possession. The two youths were taken to the police station.
Several snatcher gangs are active in the city and these gangs have carried out several snatching incidents in recent days. On Friday itself two bikers had snatched a locket from a woman in Baradwari, Sitaramdera and had escaped easily.
