National Career Service Portal emerges as a dynamic platform for jobseekers and employers, with over 10.45 lakh active vacancies as of December 2023.

NEW DELHI -The National Career Service (NCS) Portal, launched by the Government, is rapidly becoming a pivotal resource for job seekers and employers across India.

Introduced as a comprehensive digital platform [www.ncs.gov.in], the portal offers a range of career services including job search and matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, and skill development courses.

One of the portal’s primary functions is to connect jobseekers with potential employers, aiming to provide meaningful employment opportunities for the nation’s youth and support their career development.

Key features of the NCS Portal include over 1100 approved career counsellors, a knowledge repository with information on more than 3600 job roles, and online employability skill assessments.

Additionally, it provides employability enhancement training in digital and soft skills.

The portal is integrated with 28 State Employment portals and several private job portals, facilitating widespread sharing of jobseeker data and vacancies.

It also links with the Udyam portal of the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, EPFO, and ESIC for streamlined employer registration.

As of December 18, 2023, the NCS Portal boasts more than 10.45 lakh active vacancies.

Significant growth in the number of employers registered and vacancies mobilized over the past three years demonstrates the portal’s expanding role in India’s employment landscape.

In 2020-2021, 78,367 employers were registered with 12,61,066 vacancies mobilized, followed by 52,863 employers and 13,46,765 vacancies in 2021-2022, and a substantial increase to 8,19,827 employers and 34,81,944 vacancies in 2022-2023.

Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shri Rameshwar Teli provided this update in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, highlighting the portal’s significant impact on India’s employment sector.
