ACB Arrests Revenue Employee For Accepting Rs 4000 Bribe

Employee Caught Red-Handed At Hazaribagh Divisional Office

Official demanded Rs 15,000 for issuing land possession certificate, settled for Rs 10,000.

RANCHI – The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Khasmahal employee on Wednesday for accepting a Rs 4000 bribe at the Hazaribagh divisional office.

"The accused was caught red-handed while accepting money for issuing a land possession certificate," an ACB official stated.

The arrest follows a June 28 complaint by Arjun Prasad Mehta, a resident of Dariya village in Ichak, Hazaribagh.

The accused initially demanded Rs 15,000 for the certificate, later agreeing to Rs 10,000 after negotiations.

"We set up a trap team after receiving the complaint," the ACB source explained.

Mehta cooperated with ACB, handing over Rs 4000 to the accused under surveillance.

The official’s hands turned red when washed, confirming the marked currency’s transfer.

ACB DSP is currently interrogating the accused at the Hazaribagh office.

This arrest highlights ongoing efforts to combat corruption in local government offices.

The case underscores the importance of reporting bribery attempts to anti-corruption authorities.
