Emotion Control & Egoless Devotion: Key Messages at Bistupur’s Bhagwat Katha

The third day of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha saw Pandit Sitaram Shastri emphasising the importance of egoless devotion and emotional control.

JAMSHEDPUR – During his narration at the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha event, Katha Vachak Sitaram Shastri underscored the necessity for managing emotions on the spiritual journey. Satsang, associating with truth, according to him, doesn’t alter the exterior world, but it fortifies our inward state of being. True seekers, he pointed out, don’t attribute their trials to external conditions.

Moreover, Shastri conveyed that an egoless heart is the only one capable of showing genuine reverence to the Lord. He further expressed that if you can’t rid yourself of pride, at least offer it to God. Such a mindset is a common aim for spiritual aspirants, he proposed.

The third day of the event, which is taking place at Tulsi Bhawan over a week, had seen elucidations about the salvation of Ajamila, Bhakt Prahlad’s persona, and Narasimha Avatar.

On the upcoming fourth day, Maharaj Ji is expected to unfold stories about Vamana Avatar, the arrival of Lord Rama and Krishna, and the Nandotsav festival.

Shastri also participated in the Women Empowerment initiative at the event, distributing two sewing machines to deserving women, on behalf of the event’s joint organisers – Jharkhand Marwari Mahila Sammelan (JMMS) and Marwari Mahila Manch (MMM) Jamshedpur.

The event witnessed active participation from ten hosts, including Usha Bagri, Rupa Agarwal, Manju Maheshwari, who performed the puja on Monday morning. Several other attendees, including Mukesh Mittal, Sandeep Murarka, and Kamal Kishore Agarwal, paid homage at the Darbar of Banke Bihari and engaged in the Bhagwat Katha.
