Christian Communities Hold New Year Ceremonies Across Palamu

MEDININAGAR – Palamu’s Christian communities embraced New Year 2025 with special prayer ceremonies and rituals in urban and rural churches.

The Shanti Ki Maharani Church on Station Road hosted a grand mass prayer led by Father George Tigga. Assisted by Father Sanjay Kerketta and Father Amardeep, the ceremony included biblical readings and prayers for peace and prosperity in families, society, and the nation. Worshippers expressed gratitude for the past year while seeking blessings for the future.

Unity in Worship

Faithful from various units, including Chiyanki, Abadganj, and Redma, gathered in large numbers to participate in the prayers. They extended New Year greetings to one another while reflecting on spiritual teachings. Cultural events by women and youth groups added a vibrant touch to the solemn occasion.

Spiritual Leadership and Messages

Father George Tigga encouraged worshippers to embody Jesus Christ’s teachings and emphasized fostering love, unity, and service in the community. He urged collective efforts toward societal betterment, especially aiding the underprivileged.

Midnight Ceremonies

Late-night masses on December 31 marked the beginning of the celebrations. Father Martin D’Souza led midnight services, which included gratitude prayers for blessings received in the past year. Other ceremonies were also held at Union Church and Redma CNI Church under the guidance of Pastor Prabhu Ranjan Masih and Pastor Sanjit Khalko.

Renewed Hopes and Resolutions

Participants resonated with messages of peace, mutual respect, and harmony for the New Year. “This gathering strengthens our bond with the divine and each other,” said a worshipper.
