CII Deputy Chairman calls for improving policies for manufacturing sector growth in Jharkhand.
JAMSHEDPUR – During a discussion about the growth of the manufacturing ecosystem in Eastern India, Suvendra Behera, Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and also Vice Chairman and Managing Director of RSB Transmission (I) Ltd, made some insightful comments. He pointed out that for a robust economy, manufacturing sector plays a crucial role. While addressing the future of this sector in India’s east, he lauded the Odisha government’s proactive measures in easing land allocation regulations for industries and offering hefty subsidies on power and fertilizer.
He then drew attention to Jharkhand, urging the government there to implement similar strategies like Odisha to bolster the rules substantially. According to Behera, improvements need to be made in land acquisition processes, the state power grid’s reliability should be increased, and access to fertilizers needs to be expanded. These changes, he stated, would contribute significantly to the manufacturing sector’s growth in the state, and subsequently in East India.
In the course of the talk, Behera highlighted the significance of manufacturing to India’s economy.
