HAZARIBAGH – Extremists set fire to five coal trucks (Hyvas) near the NTPC project in Hazaribagh late at night.
The incident occurred on the Keredari-Tandwa main road, close to a staff hotel, where the trucks were transporting coal from the NTPC’s Chatty Bariatu mining project.
A group of 8 to 9 extremists ambushed the trucks at around 2 AM.
They fired multiple rounds and attacked the drivers during the assault.
Following the attack, local police forces were dispatched to the scene and quickly managed to extinguish the flames.
Hazaribagh SP Arvind Kumar Singh, along with SDPO Kuldeep Kumar, Inspector Anil Kumar, and NTPC official Rohit Pal, visited the site to assess the situation.
Authorities are conducting further investigations to identify the attackers.
