AITUC Fights for Unfairly Dismissed Worker at Signode India

AITUC lodges case with DLC against Tata Bluescope’s contractor company, Signode India, for unfair dismissal. Calls for tripartite talks.

JAMSHEDPUR – The All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) has lodged a case with the Deputy Labour Commissioner against the management of Signode India, a contract company operating under Jamshedpur-based Tata Blue Scope Company.

The case was lodged following the unfair dismissal of a contract worker without proper justification.

The matter was to be discussed in tripartite talks involving the company management on Saturday.

However, the management representatives were conspicuously absent from the discussions. Ambuj Thakur, AITUC District Secretary, strongly condemned this act of disregard.

Thakur stressed that the company has no right to dismiss a laborer from work without valid reasons.

He stated that AITUC is fighting this legal battle to protect the rights of workers.

He also warned that if the company management does not engage in talks at the next appointed date, protests will be staged at the company gate.
