Bike Rider Killed After Collision Near Bansa on Chowka–Kandra Route

CHANDIL – A 32-year-old rider from Tamad lost his life on Monday after a collision near Bansa on the Chowka–Kandra route.

The crash occurred around 4 p.m. The victim, Prakash Mahato, was heading to attend a relative’s funeral ritual in Tamad. However, another bike approached from the opposite side near Bansa.

The two vehicles collided head-on. The rider, on the other hand, was thrown off balance and hit a trailer standing ahead.

He died on the spot due to severe injuries. Moreover, police reached the location soon after being notified and began an inquiry into the crash.

Relatives said he had left home earlier in the day for the ceremony. Meanwhile, officers examined the damaged bikes to understand the sequence of events.

Besides, two fatal road mishaps have been reported in the last 24 hours in the wider region. Earlier cases include a youth killed near Pitki gate and a woman’s death in Seraikela.

In addition, past incidents such as the NH-33 tragedy near Chowka, a mishap in Chandil, and a collision near Ramgarh show rising accident numbers across the zone.
