152 Students Participate in Two-Day Event on October 9-10

JAMSHEDPUR – DAV Public School in Bistupur organized a two-day intra-school Youth Parliament competition on October 9-10, 2025, with 152 participants from Classes V to VIII engaging in diplomatic debates.

The school conducted the 7th edition event. It formed part of National Youth Parliament Competition 2025-26. Moreover, the program aimed at developing student leadership skills.

Mrs Pragya Singh formally inaugurated the competition. She serves as ARO DAV Public Schools, Zone-E. Besides, she holds the position of Principal at the school.

The event provided students a platform for skill development. Participants enhanced their diplomacy and public speaking abilities. In addition, they developed critical thinking through debates.

On Day 1, a total of 155 delegates participated. Students from Class V to VIII joined the program. However, they were divided into two different committees.

The committees included Yu Sansad and United Nations General Assembly. Each committee addressed distinct issues during sessions. On the other hand, both focused on pressing concerns.

Yu Sansad delegates debated India’s foreign policy issues. They discussed Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in detail. Meanwhile, UNGA participants examined US-NATO interference in Middle Eastern countries.

Principal Mrs Pragya Singh addressed the delegates initially. She emphasized global awareness and youth leadership importance. Furthermore, she highlighted changing educational values over time.

“Degrees of merit and education might have changed,” she noted. However, fundamental values remain constant across generations. Besides, these values must be carried forward consistently.

The Principal stressed building a better future society. She encouraged delegates to uphold core values. Moreover, she motivated students toward meaningful social contribution.

Committee sessions began following the opening ceremony. Delegates engaged in lively debates throughout sessions. In addition, they drafted resolutions for real-world challenges.

Riya Saxena served as Secretariat for UNGA. Anwesha Pathak chaired the UNGA committee proceedings. Meanwhile, Navya Chabbra functioned as Vice Chair Person.

Shaurya Raj assumed the Speaker role for Yu-Sansad. Anukalp Roy served as Deputy Speaker simultaneously. However, smooth coordination ensured effective conference management.

Faculty advisors guided delegates throughout both committees. Anjulata Sinha provided expert guidance to participants. Besides, B Uma supervised student performances closely.

Anusua Banerjee evaluated delegate contributions during sessions. Moitrayee Mukhopadhay assessed research and diplomacy skills. Furthermore, Shashank Singh monitored overall engagement levels.

Day One concluded with significant committee achievements. The UNGA committee passed an Anti-West Alliance draft. Moreover, delegates expressed concerns about foreign military interventions.

The ruling NDA alliance passed another important resolution. It condemned terrorism in strong terms. In addition, the draft emphasized sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The competition continues on October 10, 2025. Students will present final resolutions during closing sessions. However, the event already demonstrated exceptional student participation.
