Four specialists to boost healthcare services amid staff shortage at 50-bed facility

JAMSHEDPUR – The Tatanagar Railway Hospital is preparing to strengthen its medical team with four specialist doctors to enhance healthcare delivery for railway staff and families.

The South East Zone railway administration has taken decisive action to address the medical staff shortage.

Meanwhile, the hospital currently manages with just six doctors.

In addition, the facility handles approximately 200 patients daily in its OPD and emergency services.

However, many railway employees currently seek treatment at private clinics due to service limitations.

Moreover, union representatives have emphasized the critical need for specialists in multiple departments.

The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Anjula Malhotra, recently conducted a thorough inspection of the facility.

Furthermore, a railway insider revealed that the hospital plans to upgrade its testing capabilities after the new appointments.

On the other hand, Dr. SK Mishra confirmed that the interview process would commence shortly.

Besides, the new specialists will focus on orthopaedics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, and paediatrics.
