JAMSHEDPUR – A Kendriya Vidyalaya student in Chakradharpur was hospitalized with breathing difficulties following an alleged assault by a teacher.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chakradharpur.
Reportedly, Anees Sharma, a 7th-grade student, was punched on the back by the Mathematics teacher.
The alleged assault left Anees in critical condition, requiring oxygen support at Chakradharpur Railway Hospital.
According to sources, the incident was triggered when Anees asked a question that provoked the teacher’s anger.
The student allegedly fainted after being struck, prompting the teacher to contact Anees’s father urgently.
On the other hand, the teacher denies the allegations, claiming the incident was a misunderstanding.
Meanwhile, Jai Narayan Sharma, Anees’s father, claims this isn’t the first such incident involving the teacher.
He demands a thorough investigation and strict action against the accused teacher.
Moreover, Dr. Rishabh Sinha, Senior DPO, assured action upon receiving a written complaint with medical reports.
However, the incident raises concerns about student safety and adherence to the Right to Education Act.
In addition, the Act prohibits any form of physical or mental harassment of children in schools.
