Bollywood Director Credits School for Shaping His Storytelling Passion

Jamshedpur institution’s influence evident in Ali’s latest film "Wo Bhi Din The", set against school backdrop.

JAMSHEDPUR – Sajid Ali, the renowned filmmaker, has returned to Loyola School, where he acknowledges the institution for cultivating his storytelling abilities.

Ali cherished the memory of his initial skit performance at the school in 2003, which was themed around the Domicile issue.

The director conveyed his appreciation for the extracurricular activities at Loyola, which he believes were crucial in the development of his creative abilities and personality.

Ali expressed his gratitude to Father Pius for his unwavering support during his visit.

Sajid Ali, the younger sibling of the renowned Bollywood figure Imtiaz Ali, launched his film career by co-writing "Cocktail" with his brother.

With "Laila Majnu" in 2018, he made his directorial debut, showcasing his ability to create captivating narratives.

"Wo Bhi Din The," Ali’s most recent endeavor, has been lauded for its innovative approach to the coming-of-age genre.

The 2024 Hindi romantic comedy was set against the backdrop of Loyola School, according to the filmmaker.

Ali observed infrastructure modifications during his campus tour, but he underscored the institution’s unwavering dedication to its fundamental principles and ethical standards.

"Loyola continues to excel in providing holistic education, fostering both academic and personal growth," according to him.

The visit underscored the enduring influence of Loyola’s value-based education on the development of accomplished individuals.

The event was made unforgettable by the contributions of Father Vinod Fernandes and Vice Principal Jayanti Sheshadri.
