First-Time Participants Secure Gold and Silver Medals
Jamshedpur’s young boxers from Loyola School Telco showcased their prowess at the 4th CICSE Regional Boxing Championship.
JAMSHEDPUR – Loyola School Telco students made a stunning debut at the 4th CICSE Regional Boxing Championship, securing multiple medals and a runner-up trophy.
The event, held on August 8, 2024, at Kerala Public School, Mango, saw participation from 16 schools across the region.
Shambhavi Mishra clinched gold in the U14 category (50KG +FC), demonstrating exceptional skill and determination.
In the U17 category, Shuchi Shaily Balmuchu (52-54 KG) and Hiranya Nidhi (66-70 KG) also secured gold medals for their school.
Sanaa Malakar added to the medal tally with a silver in the U17 category (48-50 KG).
The school’s impressive performance earned them the U14 Runner-Up trophy in their first-ever CICSE tournament.
"This victory has significantly boosted our school’s reputation in sports," a school official stated.
The school management, Principal, and Administrator expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements.
Coach Kartik Mahato received special congratulations for his role in preparing the young athletes.
The championship was judged by officials from the Jharkhand Boxing Association, ensuring high standards of competition.
Firoz Khan, an international coach and handball player, graced the event as the chief guest.
KPS Mango Principal Rupa Ghosh and Vice Principal Usha Raj Shekharan presented the medals and trophies to the winners.
The success has inspired Loyola School students to aim for national-level accolades in various weight categories.
This victory comes on the heels of the school’s recent affiliation with CICSE, New Delhi, adding to their celebratory mood.
