JMM Reviews Lok Sabha Election Defeat in Chakulia

Development Issues and Strategic Mistakes Identified in Preparation for Upcoming Assembly Elections

JMM leaders held a review meeting in Chakulia to analyze the defeat of Samir Mohanti in the Lok Sabha elections, focusing on development issues and strategic mistakes.

JAMSHEDPUR – Following the defeat of India Alliance candidate Samir Mohanti from Jamshedpur in the Lok Sabha elections, a review meeting of JMM leaders and workers was held in Chakulia on Saturday.

The meeting, chaired by Block President cum Pramukh Dhananjay Karunamay, was attended by candidate and Baharagora MLA, Samir Mohanti.

The meeting involved a detailed review of the votes received at various booths across the block’s panchayats.

The primary issue identified for the election defeat was the lack of completed development projects in the area.

Many workers attributed the low votes in certain villages to the unfulfilled development demands of the villagers.

Additionally, it was noted that inadequate monitoring of booths by organization workers on the night before voting contributed to the division of votes, marking another key reason for the loss.

Addressing the meeting, Samir Mohanti emphasized the need for readiness and dedication towards the development of the area.

He reassured the workers that he had approved schemes from his own fund based on their demands and maintained close connections with the locals, not just as an MLA but as a servant of the people.

He acknowledged the shortcomings in effectively presenting the state government’s development work to the public as a factor for the defeat.

He urged party workers to be more proactive and vigilant, especially with the assembly elections approaching in three months.

"Party workers should learn from the mistakes made in the Lok Sabha elections and work on strengthening their efforts," Mohanti said.

"By spreading awareness about the government’s development work, we can ensure a better performance in the upcoming assembly elections."

The meeting was attended by Ghanshyam Mahato, Shyam Mandi, Rakesh Mohanty, Gopan Parihari, Amar Hansda, Pintu Mahato, Sameer Das, Shivcharan Hansda, Vishal Barik, Madan Mohan Hembram, Sundar Hembram, Jhantu Bhol, Priya Gopal Mandal, Pulak Ranjan Mohapatra, Rana Mallick, and others.

The meeting proceedings were conducted by Balaram Mahato.
