Kowali police crack down on illegal lottery business in Haldipokhar market, arrest 4 persons

Jamshedpur: Kowali police have arrested at least four persons on Monday on the charges of running an illegal lottery business in Haldipokhar market. Lottery tickets worth Rs. 5 lakh were also seized by the police in the Monday crackdown.

The police are now investigating the involvement of the four arrested persons.

According to Kowali police sources, during an operation to crack down on illegal lottery operations in Jamshedpur’s Haldipokhar market in the Potka block, the Kowali police station nabbed four people and recovered illicit lottery tickets worth around five lakhs.

The police authorities are presently looking into the accused’ possible involvement in the unlawful business.

Musabani Dy.SP Chandrashekhar Azad led the operation after receiving insider information and conducting a clandestine raid on a paan shop operated by one S Kundu.

The police have stated that they would continue to execute such initiatives to put a stop to unlawful activities in the region.
