XLRI Jamshedpur Hosts First CXO Series with Zee Entertainment’s Animesh Kumar

Insightful Sessions on Family Businesses and Content Trends Highlight Event

XLRI Jamshedpur inaugurated the first CXO Series for the GMP batch of 2024-25 with Animesh Kumar, President, HR and Transformation at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.

JAMSHEDPUR – XLRI Jamshedpur organized its first CXO Series for the GMP batch of 2024-25, featuring Animesh Kumar, President of HR and Transformation at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.

Animesh Kumar, a corporate leader with over 25 years of experience, led a session on "Family Ventures Reimagined: Pivoting and Scaling through Generations."

The session saw enthusiastic participation from the entire group, including XLRI management and staff.

Prof. Sunil Sarangi, Co-Convener of the Placement, warmly welcomed the guest speaker and expressed heartfelt appreciation.

Deepak Yadav, Founder of CEO Lounge, commenced the session with insights on the dynamics of family businesses.

He then introduced Animesh Kumar, who shared his expertise and experiences with the audience.

The Q&A-led session between Deepak Yadav and Animesh Kumar delved into the complexities of family businesses, emphasizing the proverb "wealth rarely survives three generations."

Discussions included the evolution of family business dynamics, global expansion challenges, and changing social norms regarding gender roles.

An interactive Q&A session followed, allowing students to engage directly with the speakers.

On the second day, Animesh Kumar conducted a session on "Crystal Balling Social and Behavioural Trends through Content."

He discussed the shifting content consumption patterns through OTT platforms and Instagram Reels.

Challenges like free-to-air content, digital advertising dominance, and evolving monetization strategies were addressed.

Kumar highlighted the importance of adaptability and agility for media companies in catering to diverse local cultures.

The ad-supported video on demand (AVOD) model’s popularity and AI’s role in content production were also discussed.

Kumar emphasized that family businesses could provide sustainable returns to investors compared to institutional businesses.

Challenges such as low ad rates and content segregation based on audience demographics were noted.

Students analyzed a case for Zee Entertainment, focusing on content strategies and monetization plans based on ads and subscriptions.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing immense gratitude to Animesh Kumar for his valuable insights and knowledge shared with XLRI students.
