XLRI Jamshedpur Welcomes New Batch of 551 Students for Academic Year 2024-26

Inauguration Ceremony Conducted Offline, Emphasizing Diversity and Inclusion

Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur welcomed a new batch of 551 students for the academic year 2024-26 in an offline inauguration ceremony held at the Tata Auditorium on the XLRI Jamshedpur campus.

JAMSHEDPUR – The event, which has become a tradition, was attended by the new students, their parents, XLRI faculty, and staff members.

The new batch includes 9 students enrolled in the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and 14 students in the Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EXEC-FPM).

The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries, including Fr. S George S.J, Director of XLRI, Fr. Donald D’Silva S.J, Dean Administration & Finance, and Prof. Sanjay Patro, Dean Academics.

Verses from holy books were recited by XLRI staff members to seek divine blessings and motivate students to lead an honest and pure life.

Prof. Sanjay Patro delivered the welcome address, followed by a prayer recited by Fr. Donald D’Silva SJ.

The new students were introduced to the 80+ Professors of the Jamshedpur XLRI campus.

Emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion

Fr. S George S.J., Director of XLRI, addressed the gathering, welcoming the students to the XLRI family and emphasizing the importance of making the most of the opportunities at the institution.

He noted that each student’s success contributes to XLRI’s success, and their actions bring glory to the institution.

An XLRI official highlighted the institution’s consistent prioritization of diversity in its classrooms, curating a varied student body in terms of gender, educational background, economic background, professional backgrounds, and regional diversity.

XLRI has historically pioneered the inclusion of women in management education in India and fosters an environment where they feel safe and empowered.

Ice-Breaking Event and Special Orientation Programme

Following the academic inaugural event, a two-hour ice-breaking event was conducted, featuring various games and activities to help the students interact comfortably with each other.

The new students then underwent a Special Orientation Programme designed by XLRI to update their knowledge before the commencement of regular classes.

The inauguration ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter for the 551 students, as they embark on their journey at XLRI Jamshedpur, an institution renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and inclusion.
