JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur Police has shifted into full alert mode ahead of Ram Navami, with the city’s top police official issuing special orders to prevent any untoward incident during the festival.
City Superintendent of Police Kumar Shivaashish held a security briefing at the CCR in Sakchi. He addressed both police officers and personnel at the meeting. Special directives were issued to maintain order during the festival period.
The City SP made it clear that additional police force deployment would begin before Ram Navami itself. Moreover, this reinforcement would remain in place on the day of the festival. All sensitive areas across the city will be under close watch.
Shivaashish said the entire area would be converted into a police cantonment during Ram Navami. He added that no anti-social elements would be allowed to succeed in their designs. On the other hand, law enforcement would be visible across the city throughout the period.
The City SP also announced that flag marches would begin immediately across all parts of Jamshedpur. These marches are intended as a deterrent ahead of the festival. However, the exact number of additional personnel to be deployed was not disclosed.
The police administration has already begun coordinating with local units. All officers have been put on special alert status. In addition, surveillance has been stepped up at various locations in the city.
