Installation Aims to Ease Daily Congestion on Busy Jamshedpur Route

  • Route handles over two lakh commuters daily
  • Initiative taken by Potka MLA Sanjiv Sardar

JAMSHEDPUR – A new traffic signal has been formally activated on the Karandih-Parsudih main road to ease congestion.

The busy road connects several residential and commercial areas of Jamshedpur. The stretch witnesses daily movement of over two lakh commuters. However, frequent traffic jams occurred during morning and evening hours. Moreover, students, office workers, and pedestrians faced regular inconvenience.

The signal has been installed on the Karandih to Parsudih corridor. Meanwhile, the area remained congestion-prone for several years. In contrast, traffic flow is expected to improve after activation. On the other hand, enforcement will determine long-term effectiveness.

The initiative was taken following efforts by the Potka legislator. Meanwhile, the growing traffic load prompted administrative attention. Moreover, the signal aims to regulate vehicle movement systematically. In contrast, earlier traffic remained largely unmanaged.

The MLA stated the step addresses persistent congestion complaints. However, the focus also includes pedestrian safety. Meanwhile, smoother traffic flow is expected across peak hours. On the other hand, rule compliance remains essential.

Local residents expressed satisfaction after the signal started functioning. Moreover, commuters believe strict monitoring can reduce daily jams. In contrast, lack of enforcement may weaken benefits. However, authorities have assured better regulation.

Earlier concerns regarding congestion near Parsudih rail gate remain. Meanwhile, demands for infrastructure upgrades continue. Related issues were reported earlier in rail gate congestion. Moreover, traffic disruptions were noted during official visits.

The road has also featured in civic protests. In contrast, redevelopment demands surfaced in road revamp plans. Meanwhile, traffic diversions were reported during festival processions. Moreover, enforcement coordination involved police reshuffles.
