DC Karn Satyarthi Inspects EVM Warehouse at Keetadih in Jamshedpur

Storage, CCTV Systems and Security Protocols Reviewed Ahead of Polls

Key Points:

  • DC-cum-DEO Karn Satyarthi inspects EVM and VVPAT storage at Keetadih warehouse
  • CCTV surveillance, access control and security standards reviewed thoroughly
  • Officials directed to strictly follow Election Commission guidelines

JAMSHEDPUR — Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Karn Satyarthi conducted an inspection of the EVM warehouse located at Keetadih on Tuesday.

During the inspection, he reviewed arrangements related to the safe storage of Electronic Voting Machines and VVPATs. The CCTV surveillance system and access control mechanisms at the facility were also examined closely.

Satyarthi directed the concerned officials to ensure strict compliance with security standards as laid down by the Election Commission of India. He called for necessary vigilance to be maintained at all times at the warehouse premises.

The DC also took stock of the security personnel deployed at the facility. Record maintenance procedures and the overall monitoring system were reviewed during the visit.

Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh and other officials were present during the inspection.

EVM warehouses are required to maintain round-the-clock security under Election Commission protocols. Access is typically restricted to authorised personnel only, with multiple layers of surveillance mandatory at all storage facilities.

Jamshedpur falls under East Singhbhum district, which has seen active electoral activity in recent months. Earlier this year, the local body election notification was issued for the district. The district administration has been actively overseeing all election-related preparations in the region.
