DLSA Hosts Multi-Stakeholder Meet on Child Protection Laws

POCSO and Juvenile Justice Acts Discussed at Civil Court Consultation

JAMSHEDPUR – District Legal Services Authority organized a multi-stakeholder consultation program on child protection laws at the Civil Court on January 31.

The consultation focused on POCSO Act and Juvenile Justice Act. Judge Kankan Pattadar, District and Additional Sessions Judge-I, attended the program. His presence enhanced the dignity of the event significantly.

Meanwhile, judicial officers participated in the consultation at Jamshedpur venue. Police officers joined the discussion on child protection mechanisms. Moreover, doctors attended sessions on legal procedures involving children.

Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board members were present. Panel advocates participated in the interactive discussions held there. In addition, Legal Aid Defense Councils attended the program.

However, Paralegal Volunteers also joined the consultation at Civil Court. The program began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony. Kumar Sourabh Tripathi, DLSA Secretary, delivered the welcome address.

On the other hand, Tripathi explained key sections of POCSO Act. He discussed the Act’s objectives in detail before participants. Furthermore, he highlighted effective implementation strategies for child protection.

Richesh Kumar, Judicial Magistrate, conducted a session on JJ Act. He explained legal processes related to juvenile justice matters. Besides, he discussed children’s rights within the justice system.

Ms. Divya Ashwini serves as Principal Magistrate of JJB. She conducted an interactive session on Juvenile Justice Act. Moreover, she engaged doctors and police officers in dialogue.

Kamal Kant Sinha, advocate and mediator, shared his views. The district has witnessed several legal awareness programs recently. In addition, child protection remains a priority for authorities.

Bimalesh Kumar Sahay serves as Special Judge for POCSO Act. He organized an important interactive session with all participants. However, he discussed practical aspects of child protection law implementation.

Furthermore, the session addressed challenges in POCSO Act enforcement. Participants shared experiences from their respective fields of work. Legal services continue expanding reach across the district.

Ajay Kumar Guriya, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, delivered vote of thanks. Manoj Kumar Singh, Assistant LADC, conducted the entire program. Meanwhile, Singh ensured smooth coordination among all stakeholder groups.

The consultation proved significant for coordination among various departments. Special legal initiatives have strengthened judicial mechanisms in recent months. Moreover, awareness increased regarding child protection law implementation.

The program brought together multiple stakeholders on one platform. Legal proceedings related to vulnerable groups receive special attention now. District authorities regularly organize consultation programs for stakeholder engagement.
