Marathon Held in Seraikela to Promote Road Safety Awareness

DC and SP Flag Off Student Run From Indoor Stadium to Birsa Munda Stadium

JAMSHEDPUR – A road safety marathon was organised in Seraikela on Friday.

The event was organised by the district transport department. It focused on road safety awareness.

The marathon started from the Indoor Stadium. It concluded at Birsa Munda Stadium.

A large number of school students participated. They joined the run enthusiastically.

Moreover, the atmosphere remained energetic throughout the event.

Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh flagged off the marathon. Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat also attended.

Both officials ran with students. They encouraged participants during the run.

The police department arranged special traffic management. Heavy vehicles were diverted during the event.

Meanwhile, smooth movement was ensured along the route.

The total distance was around three kilometres. Students carried placards with road safety messages.

In addition, the transport department distributed awareness pamphlets.

The deputy commissioner appealed for helmet use. He urged people to avoid drunk driving.

Moreover, he asked citizens to follow traffic rules strictly.

He also spoke about good samaritans. He said helpers of accident victims receive government rewards.

He clarified that such citizens face no legal trouble.

Similar awareness activities were earlier reported during a road safety rally.

A road safety marathon was also organised in Jamtara.

Other initiatives included a Seraikela awareness drive.

Campaigns were also held during the Road Safety Month.

Schools earlier joined similar efforts. One such event was a DAV awareness campaign.
