Mobile Unit to Serve Rural Communities in East Singhbhum, Kalinganagar Areas

Key Points:

  • Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West donates mobile cancer screening van to MTMH
  • 54 Rotarians and families contribute through Rotary Global Grant funding
  • Unit will screen oral, breast, cervical cancers in underserved areas

JAMSHEDPUR – A mobile cancer screening van was donated to Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West during the launch of Tata Steel Foundation’s screening initiative.

Tata Steel Foundation launched the Mobile Cancer Screening Unit yesterday. Jamshedpur Cancer Society collaborated in the initiative. The screening van was formally inaugurated during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Rotary Global Grant provided primary funding. Individual contributions came from 54 Rotarians across the community. Their families and friends also participated financially.

However, RSB Foundation added CSR support. The foundation contributed additional resources for the project. Multiple funding sources strengthened the initiative’s foundation.

The mobile unit will deliver doorstep screening services. Oral cancer detection forms one component. Breast and cervical cancer screenings complete the package.

Moreover, underserved rural communities will receive priority access. Kalinganagar residents will benefit from the service. Meramandali area has been included in coverage.

On the other hand, East Singhbhum districts need healthcare support. Rural populations face limited screening facilities. The mobile unit addresses this gap effectively.

Early detection capabilities improve through this initiative. Timely treatment becomes more accessible for vulnerable populations. Healthcare equity advances through collaborative partnerships.

Cancer awareness programs have been conducted previously by Rotary Club Jamshedpur West. The organization has supported cervical cancer vaccination drives earlier. Breast cancer awareness campaigns were organized in recent months.

The Jamshedpur Cancer Society brings medical expertise. Tata Steel Foundation provides operational support. Rotary Club contributes community mobilization capabilities.

RSB Foundation’s CSR involvement demonstrates corporate responsibility. Multiple stakeholders unite for public health objectives. Partnership models prove effective for healthcare delivery.

The screening van was flagged off ceremonially. Officials emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare. Community leaders attended the inauguration event.
