Team PSF Marks Apheresis Awareness Day with Record 1,655 SDP Donations

JAMSHEDPUR – Apheresis Awareness Day was observed on September 16, 2025, at the Jamshedpur Blood Centre to raise awareness about apheresis therapy and honor contributions in this field.
Marking the occasion, Team PSF achieved a record of 1,655 single donor platelet (SDP) donations, the highest by any voluntary organization. On the day, Tata Steel employees Bhagwan Singh and Kamal Kumar Ghosh donated SDPs, taking the milestone count to 1,655.
Both donors were honored with Proud Apheresis Blood Donor certificates and mementos. The event was attended by Jamshedpur Blood Centre GM Sanjay Choudhary, Dr. Love Bahadur Singh, technician Anup Kumar Srivastava, and Team PSF directors Arijit Sarkar, Ravi Shankar, Uttam Kumar Gorai, and Kumares Hazra.
Apheresis Awareness Day is observed every year on the third Tuesday of September to highlight medical advances in blood component separation and recognize donors, patients, and physicians contributing to saving lives.
