Leaders Recall Vajpayee’s Legacy on His Seventh Death Anniversary

Key Points:

  • BJP Jamshedpur leaders remembered Vajpayee at Sakchi district office
  • Former state BJP chief Dr. Yadunath Pandey attended the tribute event
  • Leaders recalled Vajpayee’s UN Hindi speech and nuclear test success

JAMSHEDPUR – The Bharatiya Janata Party Jamshedpur unit observed the seventh death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Saturday.

The program was held at the BJP district office in Sakchi under the leadership of district president Sudhanshu Ojha. Leaders and workers offered floral tributes to Vajpayee’s portrait and pledged to follow his ideals.

Dr. Yadunath Pandey, former BJP state president and ex-MP from Hazaribagh, was the chief guest. Party workers raised slogans such as “Atal Bihari Vajpayee Amar Rahe” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” in his memory.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pandey said Vajpayee dedicated his entire life to the nation. He recalled how Vajpayee, as foreign minister in 1977, delivered a Hindi speech at the United Nations, giving the language international recognition.

He added that Vajpayee never compromised with core principles. Despite leading a coalition of 24 parties, his government ensured all-round development. Dr. Pandey also highlighted the 1998 nuclear tests conducted under Vajpayee’s leadership, which advanced India’s self-reliance.

According to him, Vajpayee was a resolute statesman, and his era could be called “Ramraj.” He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was carrying forward that legacy, citing Article 370’s abrogation and Ram temple construction.

District president Sudhanshu Ojha said Vajpayee was among the rarest of personalities. He credited him with transforming BJP from its Jan Sangh roots into a national party.

Ojha also emphasized that the creation of Jharkhand was Vajpayee’s contribution. He noted that after decades of struggle, Vajpayee’s firm resolve ensured Jharkhand became a separate state.
