East Singhbhum Congress Submits Memorandum to District Collector

SERAIKELA – East Singhbhum District Congress Committee submitted a memorandum to the District Collector demanding reconsideration of the government’s decision to transfer intermediate classes from degree colleges to +2 schools.
District President Anand Bihari Dubey led the delegation to the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The memorandum was addressed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Moreover, the Congress raised concerns about the impact on students’ futures.
The Jharkhand government’s decision affects intermediate 11th and 12th classes. These classes are being transferred from degree colleges to +2 schools. However, this policy change has created uncertainty for lakhs of students.
In East Singhbhum district alone, approximately 12,000 intermediate seats have been eliminated. Furthermore, over 21,000 students are directly affected by this decision. The sudden implementation has caused widespread concern among families.
Across the state, nearly 600 non-teaching employees are facing job insecurity. Besides, the policy has created confusion in the education sector. The Congress delegation highlighted these critical issues during their meeting.
District President Dubey emphasized the serious nature of this matter. He stated that the decision is deeply affecting students’ futures. “The government must reconsider this policy immediately,” said a Congress representative.
The Congress made several specific demands to the Chief Minister. They requested immediate suspension of the current policy. In addition, they demanded proper infrastructure preparation before any transfers.
The party also sought job security guarantees for non-teaching staff. Moreover, they insisted on stakeholder consultation for future education policies. The Congress emphasized the need for comprehensive planning.
Dubey expressed hope that the Jharkhand government would take sensitive decisions. He stated that people, especially students, have expectations from Congress. Meanwhile, the party positioned itself as the voice of affected students.
The memorandum submission saw significant participation from Congress leaders. Provincial Secretary Khagenachandra Mahato attended the event. Besides, Rajnish Singh and NSUI President Sachin Kumar Singh were present.
Other prominent attendees included Arun Kumar Singh and China Rao. Women President Nalini Sinha also participated in the demonstration. Furthermore, Satish Kumar, Durga Prasad, and Sandhya Thakur joined the delegation.
Gulam Sarbar, Intikhab, and Birendra Pandey were also present. Large numbers of students and their parents participated. The gathering demonstrated widespread concern about the policy change.
The Congress emphasized that proper resources must be available first. They stressed the importance of adequate teacher availability. In addition, complete infrastructure development should precede any transfers.
