SERAIKELA – The Adityapur police in Seraikela district have successfully resolved two high-profile cases, arresting six individuals and sending them to judicial custody. The arrests include three suspects in an abduction and extortion case, and three others linked to the Tata Steel Gamharia loader operator Abhay Singh’s murder on May 14, 2024.

In the abduction case, Golu Kumar Singh, Adarsh Kumar, and Vikas Rai were detained. Police recovered four mobile phones from their possession. The suspects allegedly assaulted Zomato delivery boy Khakra Soren near Auto Cluster on January 20, robbing his phone and transferring ₹1,800 from his account. The next day, they demanded ₹8,000 from Soren’s family using the stolen phone.

Breakthrough in Loader Operator Murder Case

Three other suspects, Akash Mukhi, Sumit Mukhi, and Vikas Yogi, were apprehended for their role in the murder of Abhay Singh. The police, under the leadership of Adityapur Police Station in-charge Rajeev Kumar Singh, conducted a detailed investigation and successfully tracked down the culprits.

Police Efforts Appreciated

A special task force was formed under the guidance of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, leveraging technical and human intelligence. The operation’s success has brought relief to victims like Soren, who commended the police for recovering his stolen phone and providing his family much-needed assurance.
