SERAIKELA – A cyclist, identified as Premchand from Tardih, sustained severe injuries in a hit-and-run accident near Baghraysai on the Tata-Chaibasa road in Rajnagar. The collision occurred when Premchand was returning from Rajnagar. A speeding motorcycle hit him and fled the scene.

Following the incident, Premchand was rushed to Sadar Hospital for treatment. However, due to the severity of his condition, he was later referred to MGM Hospital. Doctors at MGM have stated that his condition remains critical.

Motorcyclist Escapes

Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcyclist managed to escape with the bike immediately after the accident. Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the perpetrator.

Family Notified

Premchand’s family has been informed of the incident and is present at the hospital. Locals expressed concern over the rising number of accidents on this stretch of road, urging authorities to enhance road safety measures.

The Tata-Chaibasa road has witnessed several accidents in recent times. Residents have called for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and the installation of surveillance cameras to curb speeding and reckless driving.
